Web3 Pivot Research is a free 450-page research companion by Nitin Kumar, holding the casebook, market data and board tools behind The Web3 Pivot Playbook: How to Pivot a Web3 Company.
The casebook codes 189 Web3 decisions made between 2018 and 2026 on one pivot framework, and 176 of them passed the four tests of a pivot. Of the 148 pivots that stayed inside crypto, 143 shipped, 74 reached paying demand and 44 collected at least $1 million in fees by October 2026. Derivatives venues reached demand in 8 of 9 pivots, and games in 1 of 10. A census of 71 companies counts the 21 that left crypto and the 36 that wound up.
Every case gets a card with its departure, arrival, nine scores, outcome code and the measured figure behind it, grouped in 22 categories that include base networks, DeFi, stablecoins, wallets, games, DAOs and miners. The market evidence covers paying demand in 2023 to 2026, token unlocks and treasury sales, and digital asset treasury companies. The tools part gives board pack templates, worksheets, lever cards, decision exercises and a fund partner’s notes that a team can copy for its own board.
